Cubs finish tied for 3rd best OPS differential since 1914 & tied for best since 1939

They had an OPS of .772 and allowed .633. So that is a .139 differential. The .633 allowed is the lowest of any team since 1988 when the Mets had .620 and the Dodgers had .626. 

The Cubs actually edge out the 1998 Braves. It only looks like a tie at first glance due to rounding. Here are their numbers to more than 3 decimal places
