Players who led their league in OPS+ at least 4 straight years since 1900

Mike Trout
Barry Bonds
Mike Schmidt
Mickey Mantle
Babe Ruth
Rogers Hornsby
Ty Cobb

Trout has done it the last 4 years. Some of the guys above did it more than 4 straight. Cobb did it 9 straight. Some guys had more than one streak (Ruth, Bonds)

Players who did it 3 straight.

Albert Pujols
Willie McCovey
Frank Robinson
Gavvy Cravath

Lots of talk now that Trout got the crazy money.
But the basic numbers suggest that when you watch Mike Trout play you're pretty much watching Mickey Mantle.
Very similar career numbers, up to 26 years old, and I take comfort in the fact that they both took pride in being stud Centerfielders.
Locking up Trout for the rest of his playing days makes sense to me.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Trout looks like he will be great for several years. He seems to work very hard
