Chris Davis Has A .670 SLG In His Last 506 ABs

That goes back to Sept of 2012 and includes his 0 for 4 today. It was even more impressive in early June when he had .722 over his previous 302 ABs and in early July when had .710 in his previous 401 ABs. So he has slipped a bit but what he has done is still impressive. He also has 50 HRs in his last 493 ABs (and it was 50 over a 484 AB stretch through Friday).

Now he has 54 walks in this time so that makes at least 560 PAs. So in what is not quite a full season but well above qualifying, he has a very high SLG. What if we set the cutoff at .650? Below is the list of all the players who had JUST 1 SEASON of at least .650.  It is a pretty impressive list. For the most part, these are guys who had long, productive careers.

So maybe Chris Davis has done enough to prove he will not be just a flash in the pan.
