WOPS is the OPS for the World Series winner and LOPS is the OPS for the loser. WOPSDIFF is the differential for the winner.
The Yankees also had a higher OPS than the Dodgers did last year (-.041).
The only other team to win back to back World Series with a negative OPS differential besides the 2024-25 Dodgers was the A's who did it 3 years in a row, 1972-1973-1974. The Dodgers had a negative differential in the last 2 games in 2024, so the other team had a higher OPS in 7 of their last 9 World Series games. The Blue Jays had a higher OPS in 5 of the 7 games this year.
For the stats on the 2024 & 2025 series and each game's box score go to these Baseball Reference sites.
2024 World Series Los Angeles Dodgers over New York Yankees (4-1).
2025 World Series Los Angeles Dodgers over Toronto Blue Jays (4-3).
In Game 5 of the 2024 the Yankees had a .959 OPS and the Dodgers .561. The Dodgers won with a -.398 differential, the lowest ever to win a World Series game.
In Game 6 of 2025, the Blue Jays had a .669 OPS and the Dodgers had .454. That is the 12th lowest differential for a winning team in World Series history (-.215). Not shown at my post from last year linked below is the 11th which was 1985 Game 2 which the Royals lost even thought they beat the Cards in OPS .740 to .523 for a -.217 differential. See
This link has the 10 lowest differentials to ever win a World Series game.
