Gil McDougald's unique "triple double"

He led AL 3B men in double plays in 1952 with 38.

He led AL 2B men in double plays in 1955 with 119.

He led AL SS in double plays in 1957 with 104.

See Gil McDougald's Baseball Reference page

To see if this was unique, I found all the league leaders in DPs in both the AL & NL since 1901 for each of the three positions. Then I created a list for each position of all the players who led at least once. Then those three lists were combined and I used the subtotal function in Excel to find the players who led at more than one position.

Here they are

Yes means that they led their league in DPs at least once at that position. No means they never even finished in the top 10. Myer had one top 10 at SS, a 5th. Young had one top 10 at 3B, a 4th.

If I get a chance I will work on other stats, like assists and putouts to see if any other player led his league at three different positions.
